Haley Van Duyn

I am a registered Counselling Psychologist with experience in working with clients of
all ages, however I particularly enjoy working with adolescents and young adults. I
am skilled to work with a range of problem areas such as depression, anxiety
(general and social), obsessive compulsive disorder, disordered eating,
posttraumatic stress disorder and TICS. I also have experience working with “every
day” issues such as stress, relationship problems, work challenges, identity
difficulties, health challenges and behavioural problems. I am a registered ACC
therapist, and complete ACC assessments.
I am trained in evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
(CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Interpersonal
Psychotherapy (IPT). When working with trauma I use Eye Movement
Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. I also utilise a lot of mindfulness
and relaxation strategies in my work.
My availability for therapy clients is limited as I currently only work 2:30 to 8pm on
Wednesdays.

Lynda Jelley

Based In Kaikoura, Lynda is a registered Social Worker who uses her knowledge, skills & professional ethics within the healing field. Lynda integrates a variety of counselling methods including: ‘Hakomi’ method of experiential psychotherapy; which incorporates the following five principles: mindfulness, organicity, unity, holism and non-violence and ‘Interactive Drawing Therapy’.


Experience within – Stopping Violence, Mental Health, Addiction, Women’s Services, Prisons, Training & facilitating.


Lynda’s traditions, values and beliefs are moulded through the connection to the land and nature; this connection has given me a sense of belonging and spiritual identity. She enjoys family, friends, pets and the great outdoors.

Maree Stace

Maree has a bachelor in counselling and offer family, whanau care through Tui Counselling Services. This care includes individual and relationship therapy as well as workshops. Maree has worked with a varied age group from children, adolescents, young adults, adults, couples and families. Specializing in the areas of anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, relationships, pregnancy, abortion, parenting, self-esteem and values. Maree’s style of practice is being relational with a clients centered approach, incorporating Narrative, Imago and Creative therapies.

Lucy Carey

Lucy specializes in nutrition for teen athletes, disordered eating, lifestyle medicine, and feeding kids.

She did ballet in her hometown of New Plymouth till she was 18 years old, dancing to the Advanced II level and becoming an artistic member of the IDTA. She therefore knows first-hand the challenges dancers face. She regularly works one-on-one with young athletes and their parents, and holds nutrition seminars at dance studios.

She can see clients face to face in Christchurch, and through tele-health in other locations.

Emma Jackson

I’m Emma, Mental Health OT, wife and Mum to 3 busy, noisy boys! Between home life and private practice, I enjoy exploring nature with my kids, pottering in my garden, and finding op-shop treasures. 

Work-wise, I have spent the last 13 years working in various mental health settings, including Child, Adolescent and Family work, mothers and babies, and more recently working with adults in the workplace support space. 


After a traumatic event, all sorts of life domains and activities can be affected. Sleep, work, relationships, routines, even doing the shopping or keeping on top of the washing can become a challenge. Occupational Therapists (OTs) have a holistic, dynamic and strategic outlook, and can work with individuals to create goals around and achieve the a variety of improvements.

Occupational Therapist

Ella Sadler-Andrews

Ella is an Aotearoa registered Occupational Therapist and EMDR therapist specialising in trauma therapy/treatment, having spent much of her career working with developmental trauma and sexual abuse. Ella trained and qualified in the UK and made the move to Aotearoa in early 2024

She offers kiritaki a range of trauma informed therapeutic support, utilising skills from within the occupational therapy field but with a psychotherapeutic/relational/attachment focused lens. She supports kiritaki to engage in the occupation(s) (activities) they want to, need to and are expected to do. Ella has a special interest in EMDR, children, adolescents and families, but can and has worked across all ages.

Ella offers a playful, warm and kind approach. She is a creative therapist, able to be flexible in her practice to meet the needs of kiritaki.
