Ariana Sutton
Ariana graduated as a Primary Bilingual Teacher in 2005 and had several roles within the Education sector, before pursuing the path of Maori Healing Practices which always held her heart and soul. Over the last decade she has trained with some of the most skilled and experienced kaiako in Aotearoa, Wiremu Niania a leading Tohunga in the psychiatric field with Maori experiencing voices and Mahi Wairua training. Atarangi Muru and Wikitoria Oman trained Ariana in Romiromi and bodywork and Te Wananga O Aotearoa for general Rongoa Maori studies. She was the Te Waipounamu representative for Te Kahui Rongoa National Trust 2022 – 2024.
Ariana was contracted by Turanga Health on the East Coast to work in a medical centre (Waikohu Health Centre) 2021 – 2024 over the three years, she worked primarily with Kaumatua with a range of ailments, Rangatahi with depression and adults facing various kinds of injuries diseases and anxieties.
Ariana had the opportunity also to blend her background in teaching and Rongoa Maori at the South Pacific College of Natural Medicine for their degree course where students learnt the foundation of Rongoa Maori and Te Ao Maori.
Currently she has a private practice back in her home town of Invercargill where she has both ACC clients and private and teaches part-time in the Nursing Department the Maori components of health and the relevance of Rongoa Maori. Ariana offers online sessions to ACC clients and for Wairua Readings to the general public.
