Svenja Koeslich

Svenja is a registered Psychologist who works in private practice and the community mental health setting. She is experienced in working with children, young people and adults with diverse social and cultural backgrounds. Primary therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. Svenja is also experienced in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Triple P (Positive Parenting Programme). She is able to provide therapy to address a number of common difficulties including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, parenting, relationship, adjustment and life transitions.

Originally from Germany, Svenja has been living in Aotearoa New Zealand since 2003. She is registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board; and a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society (NZPsS), EMDR NZ Association, and the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (AnzaCBT).

Svenja completed her Masters and Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Family Psychology at the University of Canterbury in 2012. She also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at Massey University. In addition to private practice, Svenja has worked as a Psychologist in mental health, child care and protection, as well as education settings. Svenja is a registered ACC Sensitive Claims provider.
